Dr. Thomas Smith, LCSW

Hello, I’m glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Thomas E. Smith – a therapist, licensed clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, and Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida (SW14389). I received my doctorate from the University of Washington in 1981 and have been practicing since 1983. I’m a Clinical Fellow (13755) and an Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Along the way, I have become a Registered Premarital Preparation Counselor for the State of Florida.  I was  a Professor of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin and at Florida State University for 40 years before I retired a couple of years ago.  I’ve taught over 100 graduate courses and written about 100 publications, including a couple of books. After retiring from my professorial role, I accepted a position as the Clinical Director at Honeylake Psychiatric Clinic in Jefferson County.  After I retired again in 2021, I became the CEO of the nonprofit Crossroads Counseling and Wellness Center in Tallahassee.  Click here to see my complete resume.
